The Portuguese program in Romance Languages and the Portuguese Flagship Program are proud to announce that this year six of our students were awarded the prestigious and highly competitive Boren Scholarship.

Portuguese students in the Department of Romance Languages had the privilege of receiving Brazilian percussionist Bill Lucas and Brazilian singer Maria Kamila, lead singer of Perrengue’s band, last week to learn about Brazilian rhythms.

Every year the Center for Teaching and Learning recognizes the significant contributions graduate students make to the instructional mission of the University of Georgia through Teaching Awards sponsored by the Office of the Vice President for Instruction.

The Portuguese Flagship Program (PFP) proudly hosted a Professional Development event recently that brought together current PFP students and nearly 30 alumni from cohorts dating back to our very first overseas capstone group in 2013.
