Dr. Bethany Bateman McDonald is a Lecturer for the Department of Romance Languages (SPAN 1110, 2001, 2002, 3010, 3050) and Quechua Instructor (QUEC 1001, 1002, 2001, 2002) for the Latin American and Caribbean Studies Institute at UGA.  Her primary research interests include: sociolinguistics, Andean Spanish, Quechua, and language contact.

Originally from Lima, Peru, Jorge received a BA in Linguistics and Literature in 1996 and an MA in Linguistics in 2007, both from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. His primary research interests are Peruvian colonial theatre written in Quechua and its relationship with some archetypal characters in the Spanish Golden Age literature, such as a trickster or a pícaro. Born and raised in Bilbao, Basque Country. Master's degree in Applied Linguistics with a focus on Spanish as a Foreign Language. I taught Spanish in the Czech Republic for three years before coming to UGA in 2000.
